Nokia announces 5330 XpressMusic slider with touch sensitive music controls
Today Nokia launched its new 5330 XpressMusic slider phone. The 5330 comes equipped with a QVGA resolution display that is framed by a series of touch sensitive music playback controls on its left side.
In addition to its edgy slider design, the 5330 features lighting effects, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and both micro-USB and 3.5mm headphone connectors. The phone is compatible with Nokia's Comes With Music initiative and the Nokia Music Store, where available, and ships with a 2GB microSD memory card for music and photo storage. An FM radio is also on-board, for those that prefer their tunes free.
Bluetooth stereo support and the ability to work with social networking sites like Flickr, Facebook, and Ovi Share help keep the 5330 XpressMusic connected to the world, while Nokia Maps and a built-in aGPS keep its owner from getting lost in it.
The Nokia 5330 XpressMusic will come with quad-band GSM/EDGE support and one of two UMTS 3G configurations: 850/1900/2100MHz or 900/1700/2100MHz. While no U.S. carrier support has been mentioned, the two different configurations are functional on AT&T and T-Mobile's 3G networks, respectively. The 5330 is expected to start shipping in Q3 of this year for an estimated 160 EUR (US$203) before taxes and subsidies.
